don't buy vps their templates and iso aren't working and you can't use a custom iso, and if you ask for adding a iso for manual instalation they respond exceding the 24hours refund pollicy explicity to don't allow you to ask for refund. really bad bad service, never bought vps, with hostings i never had a problem but any support ticket is really slow to get any response

Good Support, When Available..

I have used HeavyNode for over a year now, and I'm almost upset to have to leave it, but this was my final straw. I had an extremely long wait time for support, even with marking the ticket "high priority." Because of the wait, the misreading of my original ticket, and an unavailable live chat, my server was down for 2 full days. Which made the staff and players rather upset, and it was Frankly rather embarrassing.

This unfortunate event really overshadows the good things the HeavyNode team has done for me and my server, like being helpful with support, and while not always quick to respond, it was sometimes in a reasonable time depending on ticket priority.

I needed a backup save due to griefing. I asked for "As Close to 10:30 pm PST 10/16/23 as possible. So I think that's the midnight backup" and was given the noon backup, and had to wait again for the midnight backup. While I understand they have a smaller staff team, it is unacceptable to have a high priority ticket sit for 25 hours. And then not even give the correct fix due to misreading/misunderstanding the ticket. With another 18 hours to get the correct save.

I want to recommend the host as the servers them selves run alright, the prices arent too crazy (they do have sales semi-often) and their support, when you can reach them, is fine. But I can only recommend this service if you think you won't need any support as the wait times are just too much.

It's alright

My group of friends and I bought the 9GB Premium Minecraft server hosting, which is their best plan. We would run 40 mods with 5-7 players on at the same time, decently. There would be a lot of lag though, but other times wouldn't. There isn't a lot of staff, but there is other people who would help. Staff if really nice & are able to fix & tell you what had wrong. Otherwise this hosting is decent.

VERY slow support it's been over 3 days and they still haven't contacted my manager who has put up a ticket for support.

Hello Joshua,

We are sad to hear that we didn't meet your expectations.

However, no ticket has been open for 3 days in our end. In fact, it seems that the ticket you are referring to was open and unaswered for around 1 day and a few hours.

This is still not the quality of service that we strieve to provide, but we don't think it is fair to leave a review built on false claims.

Best regards,
The HeavyNode Team

Review on HeavyNode

I've had a HeavyNode server for almost a month now and just have to say everything is running smooth as can be! The only problem I've had so far was when I was buying a plan, I spent 15 minutes on trying to find an option on making the server a spigot server and then finding out you just have to do it yourself in the config files. Other then that I love my price and quality. Thank you!

First time? Give it a shot.

Before HeavyNode, I had never even owned a Minecraft server before but these guys made it doable. I have to say, one of the best parts of working with HN is their Discord. It feels more like a friend group that you can talk openly with, which is always cool. Their sales guy is amazing and more than willing to help with technical matters too. Tickets were always answered far earlier than I expected.

I'd say the only real downside to going with them is their lack of tutorials. I had to rely on SparkedHost or Apex video tutorials for most of my learning. If they could integrate a tutorial playlist on topics both simple and complex right into the Pterodactyl panel for us noobies, it would be an absolute game-changer.

As-is, the server is already quite nice. I can't compare it to the other hosts since I don't have experience with them, but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with these folks. Would recommend overall, but I still think a comprehensive video tutorial system is urgently needed.

Better Be Committed For Life..

I am going to start this off by saying that I know they are going to reply, and I’m sure there is credibility, but at the end of the day, I believe, as a customer, the service is in the wrong.

I had a guy make a Minecraft Server for me and a few friends, and we ran it for about a month, maybe a little more, maybe less. Then we got busy, and I had to take a lot of time to work and deal with personal matters, which should be understandable.

There is an extensive list of reasons any given person could step away from a server long enough to see it go delinquent. Work, school, financial trouble, breaks, loss of family/friends, the list goes on.

When I returned to get on my server, I renewed my $11 subscription and was met with the fact that my files had been deleted, and my world (along with everyone’s work) had been wiped.

I agree 100% on locking the server, and rendering it unplayable since the account was in delinquent and was unpaid. What I don’t agree with, is deleting all the Plug-Ins I paid to have installed, as well as a month or so of work & memories.

The reply I got was ‘it’s in the Terms Of Service’ and was even told ‘it should be common sense’. That’s funny because Minecraft Realms has the system where if you don’t pay, it locks the realm, but keeps all the progress there, so you can return at any time.

Hiding stuff in the TOS that most people don’t read, especially when they aren’t the ones setting up the service, and then using it as a shield when you are called out, is embarrassing.

My main point of the review is this: if you want a server, and you want it to be hosted for a reasonable price, use HeavyNode. However, if you want to have a Server, and you want to have it ran at a reasonable price, and not risk losing all progress in the case of literally life, avoid them.

They hide behind TOS, wipe all your data and waste your time. I wasn’t going to make this review, but Rodrigo with their Customer Support had the audacity to tell me ‘it’s common sense’.

No, it’s scummy. You’re upset you’re being called out for it. As of this, I have received a Refund of $11, and have been locked out of my HeavyNode account, so further interactions with this brand is not an option.

I will be going to a different hosting service that doesn’t delete all my data when I have other more important matters to tend to, and I recommend anyone else does the same.

Hello Dakota,

Thank you for the review, we truly appreciate all kinds of feedback.

We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with the services we offer. However, on this case we do not feel that this review is fair given a few things.

Your service was automatically cancelled by our billing system because you choose not submit payment for over a month. That is, despite the numerous warnings sent to you via email (which mentioned termination and data loss). You did not reach out to us to let us know that you would not be able to pay on time either, otherwise we would have added an override/exemption to the automatic cancellation service to give you enough time to return and submit payment, as we do regularly for cases like this.

This is not hidden in the ToS, it is one of the first policies in the document and it is clearly explained: if you do not submit payment for a service, it will be cancelled and all data in it will be lost. When signing up for an account you are requested to read the ToS and confirm that you accept the agreement. We cannot hold liability if you choose no to read it but still accepted it.

It is also not something new, this is the industry standard and is how it works for pretty much every provider out there.

"If you are not paying for a service, why would you expect the service provider to still provide it?"

We did not refund you because you called us out (there is nothing to call us out for, in the first place). This is also part of our policy, if your service has been cancelled due to nonpayment, we can either provision a new one or issue a refund. The later was done as per your request and would have been done anyways, it was simply delayed by the fact that you kept opening new tickets for every response that you submitted.

Your account has been closed because we choose not to do any further business with you at this moment or in the future, and this is because of the way you have treated our staff in the support tickets. We understand that certain situations may be frustrating, but we do not allow any kind of abuse or harassment against the members of our team.

Again, thank you for your review and wish you a great weekend.

^ Rodrigo A.

The WORST hosting *BAD SUPPORT, BAD SERVERS*

The WORST hosting company I've bought from. Their prices are truly too good to be true. Our server purchases web hosting, Discord bot hosting, and MC hosting all from HeavyNode. The server was only 2 GB to test out the quality of the hosting company, and it was UNBEARABLE. The server constantly crashed after any mediocre WorldEdit operation, and the TPS was far below 20. We requested a refund, and was quickly granted our money back, but the support team did not hesitate to explain that the lag was because we did not buy their top plan, and were running a high-intensive server, when we were just running Vanilla.
We moved to MCProhosting, who do indeed have very steep prices, but is worth it. In a comparable plan in terms of memory and ram, our server runs flawlessly, meaning the problem with the lag was not with our playing on the server but rather their subpar hardware.

As for the webhosting, it was sufficient for a while, but when we needed FTP credentials, it took 2 days for their Support Team to respond with the info. Then, the website broke unexpectedly, right after we requested our refund for our Minecraft server. I'm not making claims, but thats suspicious to me. Anyways, we requested support and their team responded that it is out of their scope of support and that we should upgrade our plan for increased support, yet we already were on the topmost plan, showing that they pasted a generic response without reading our problem or looking into our info.

As for the Discord bot hosting, it was sufficient at first too, but came with no information on limitations or usage, so even for our experienced system administrators, it was a lot of guessing and testing to get our bot setup on the server.

Continuing, our website was broken for over a week, and our support tickets were ignored. We finally requested our money back again, and they responded by banning our account from creating tickets. We tried joining their Discord server for more explanation, but we were instantly banned from the server without even saying a word. We tried friending a support rep but it was declined.

The support team, which quite literally seems to only be one person (a Rodrigo), is horrendous. There is no sense of respect, expertise, or care in regards to their relations with customers.

Do not believe all of the 5 star reviews posted here, I'd be surprised if they were truly real. Do not purchase anything from this server hosting company. They will provide services that aren't even worth their low prices.

Do more research on other hosting companies, but once again, we went with MCProhosting.

EDIT: went on their discord on a different account to show them this review and tell potential customers to reach out to me for my personal experience and was quickly banned :)

seems they are hiding truthful testimonials and refuse to rectify their mistakes.

this company has to be the most unprofessional organization I've dealt with.

Hello,

There are multiple points on this review, so I'm going to go over them in the order they were written.

First, as for the Minecraft hosting service, the customer ordered a 2GB plan, and then proceeded to try running a Minecraft: Java Edition 1.15.2 server on it. It is well known that modern Minecraft versions (namely past 1.12) require a considerable amount of memory due to Mojang's lack of optimization and poor coding technics. This was explained as such to the customer and it is also frequently mentioned in all our communications channel.

It is important to note that the customer requested a refund OUTSIDE of the moneyback guarantee period, which, as per our terms of service, is handled at our discretion. (Policy 4.1 at https://heavynode.com/terms). It is also important to mention that the customer threatened us with a message which we will quote below:

"I'd like to request a FULL REFUND for my Hub server. It's been two weeks, yes, but I am a new user and did not know within these 2 weeks that this could happen. I'm sorry, and you may not accept this refund, but I would like to request it either way. If I do not get a refund, that is fine, however I will leave a bad review wherever I can, therefore that the hosting for minecraft is terrible - cheap, but bad. I'm sorry for this"

After evaluating this request and the fact that the transaction was under $10 ($5.50 on this case), our management team took the decision to issue a refund as it was not really a big loss for us and we wanted to keep the customer happy.

Please note that at absolutely no moment the customer was asked nor suggested to purchase our top plan or similars. We simply adviced them that the minimum amount of memory recommended for Minecraft servers past 1.12 is of 3 to 4GB depending on the intended load.

Now, going onto the second subject, we do not provide 24-7 support in any form, nor we offer an SLA policy for our support service. We receive and handle support requests in a pre-defined schedule which can be found on our site, and even so, no guarantees of any kind are provided.

It is also important to note that the details requested by the customer had been already sent to their email at the time of purchase, and that it was advised to store that information in a safe place.

Our web hosting plans come as UNMANAGED solutions, which means we do not provide any support other than for the hardware, environment and panels. It is the customer responsibility to set up, configure and maintain the applications that they may wish to host on their services.

Furthermore, the customer openly admitted in a support ticket that they were trying to install a custom theme/some other modifications to the software running on their service, and that due to their lack of experience on it, they had caused an issue which took their application offline.

Please note that we do NOT offer any kind of management plan on our web hosting plans, and that it was never offered to you in any kind of form or shape simply because it does not exist, it's not something that we offer. If you feel like you received a canned response, it is because you submitted the same request multiple times after being explained that it's something that we do not offer support for.

Related to the Discord bot hosting, the customer seems to have never reached us out to inquiry about any of your concerns and/or questions. If the customer does not reach us, we are simply unable to help.

Continuing on the web hosting matter, if the customer's site was unavailable it was simply because of their own mistakes and lack of experience in the matter (and in fact, they even admitted it when they first reached us out for help). No ticket was ignored "for a week", you received a response in less than 24 hours on each ticket.

It is IMPORTANT to note that at some point you started insulting our support team, which is something that we we do not, and never will tolerate at any degree. We believe that everyone should be treated with respect no matter the situation, and even so, the customer had no reason or justification to disrespect our team.

Your customer account was indeed closed. However, this is because a) You ignored our request to be respectuflly with our team and b) You started a PayPal claim to reverse one of the payments for your services.

Please note the following:

As per the policy 5.1 of our Terms Of Service (https://heavynode.com/terms), any chargeback, dispute, or claim filed against us will result in an immediate and permanent termination of all products and/or services associated to the customer's account and the account itself despite of the outcome of the chargeback, dispute or claim.

As per the policy 3.1 of our Terms Of Service (https://heavynode.com/terms), we reserve the right to shut down, suspend, terminate or deny access to any product and/or service with or without reason, with or without advance notice. We are not responsible for any data loss related to the termination of products and/or services

The customer did not join our Discord community guild/server/chat until all of the previously explained events had happened, and when they did, they joined along with a bunch of their friends in a "raid-like" (a term often used in Discord to describe when a lot of users join at the same time to a determined guild/server/chat in the spite of causing a disturb/drama on it) mode.

Furthermore, it is not true that these users were banned from our Discord community guild/server/chat after "not even saying a word". Shortly after joining, they started trying to create a situation of "drama" by talking about false claims regarding our services between them, simulating what would have been a legit conversation between a customer and people interested in buying services (which of course was totally fake). We have a strict policy of zero "trolling", "drama", etc, in order to keep our community as a safe, friendly and secure space for everyone on it.

Finally, we have never disrespected the customer in any way, shape or form. They were treated with respect at all times and under all their requests despite they were disrespectful with us and proceeded to insult our team in multiple occassions.

Customer satisfaction is our primary goal and we are - and will always be - committed to work to meet this. However, on this case, this review has been built out of a bunch of fake claims and is totally unfair.

Best regards,
The HeavyNode Team

HeavyNode goes above and beyond

Over the years I've used many server providers but none have matched the level of expertise present at HeavyNode. The company provides some of the best hardware possible at extremely affordable rates. I rarely write reviews but the support team at HeavyNode deserves praise, through multiple tickets I have yet to have to wait more than 24 hours for a response.

Best so far.

I've tried so, so many hosting companies. HeavyNode is different. Their prices, specs, and locations are the best in the industry. This is a serious host that doesn't swindle you for your money like most Minecraft hosting companies.

The support staff are very helpful and every issue with them has been resolved, including server crashes and DNS issues with their web hosting (which is a great deal as well.)

The best for Minecraft servers!

This is by far the best host I have encountered in regards to Minecraft servers. Whether it be a professional server or a small server for some friends, the bang you get for your buck with HeavyNode is unmatched. I have been using them for going on 2 years now and have no complaints. Support tickets are always quickly resolved, and the staff are extremely friendly!

I should also mention the community Discord server is also full of knowledgeable and friendly people willing to help.

Rodrigo A. deserves a raise

HeavyNode has been the best host service I have used thus far. Their servers are strong, their user interface is accessible, and their support is incredible, both friendly and helpful with each interaction. Special shoutout to Rodrigo A., who, from the start, has made my team's lives infinitely easier with his friendly and knowledgeable help.

Very Great

Very cheap, Very high performance, Very good support, Very Great

Can maybe add some one-click spigot/forge/modpack install buttons, but you can easily install it yourself, or, you can get help by submitting a ticket, so it's not that big of a deal.

Great Value

Comparing HeavyNode with other Minecraft hosting providers, you will immediately notice they give one of the best value for specs. You will find it difficult to find a better one for the price they offer. While my tickets weren't answered as quickly as I'd want them to, the staff has only been but helpful to me once they did. Discord is always available though, so at least aside from tickets, you have a quicker way to get their attention. I highly recommend HeavyNode.

Just writting an update to let you know everything remains good.

I've been with them for a good while now, and I stand by my previews reviews. Their support remains flexible and patient and the servers run well the great mayority of the time.

Anyhow, it's a good option if you are looking for shared minecraft hosting, feel free to check them out.

This will be my final review unless something bad happens ;) Good luck !

Love HeavyNode

HeavyNode is the best host I have ever used. The staff know what they are doing and are super helpful. On many occasions Rodrigo has gone above and beyond where they needed to go in order to help me with issues I was having. I would recommend HeavyNode to anyone in a heartbeat if they were looking for a solid reliable host that not only packs in the best value than anywhere else but picks great servers, delivers good performance, and genuinely cares about their customers. (LightNode is also amazing :P)

Gatto is the best cat

Gatto is the best cat. Support is usually very quick considering that HeavyNode is a small company with not a lot of staff. Their services are usually very reliable. Their prices are really cheap too. I highly recommend HeavyNode for someone who's looking for an affordable but reliable host.
